Entire web pages can be designed in Fireworks as this one was. It was my first attempt and a good example of how messy the automatic slicing tool can be in Fireworks. See the outline of the way Fireworks sliced (divided) all of the design elements by clicking on any of the buttons above. It divided some of the buttons into two sections making it look odd when the mouse rolls over them. Just roll over the buttons to see the end results.
Fireworks is very intuitive and user friendly. Rollover buttons are easy to create using Fireworks effects to make them fancy and behaviors to make them have the action you want. The custom slicing tool is worth learning how to use and the alignment options make organizing your design elements a breeze.
